However, how do you do this successfully?

If you are seriously considering selling your business, my suggestion is that the first place to start is yourself. Make sure this is what you want to do and know you have something you want to move to that your excited about. If the answer is still yes, take time to prepare and get the business organized for sale. As a business broker, I see too many sellers decide they want to exit business ownership but they do not get themself or the business ready for sale.

I will also explain what you will need to impress a buyer and give you advice on what to disclose and what not to disclose until you know you are talking with a qualified buyer and not just a "tourist buyer" that wants to know all about your business but not follow through and buy.
