Online Video Games And the people who play them

Always wonder about Online video gaming? Well don’t worry so do a lot of other people just like you. The thing is online video gaming is no different than just playing side by side with a friend at home! Except your friend isn’t right with you and you have a bigger screen!

Most people who are unfamiliar with Online gaming might be under the impression that it is only for PC users. Well I’m writing this to tell you that it’s not true! Console gamers (people with Xbox, Xbox 360, PS2, and PS3) can also play online just the same. In the following paragraphs I will explain the Console pro’s and con’s.

CONSOLE PROS: You have a controller!

You have a bigger screen.

You have a smooth gaming experience (don’t worry about lag)

You don’t have to worry if your compatible just, (just buy the right game for the right console)

Online is actually quite simple to setup.

CONS: There is a debate about which has better graphics the PC or Console systems. PC sometimes with games like Crysis can take the cake.

Now this is all probably pretty new so you should take your time and if you do decide to do some online gaming via Console here is a checklist of the things you will need:

#1 The console of your choice (usually Xbox 360, or, PS3)

#2 A broadband internet connection (DSL, COMCAST, etc.)

#3 An Ethernet cable, or wireless adapter ( I believe ps3 has wireless capabilities built in)

#4 If you choose Xbox 360 you will need to purchase Xbox live ( I know it sucks you have to pay for it but trust me. it is much smoother!)

For PC:

#1 A computer

#2 A broadband internet connection

#3 Your game! Much more simple

So no matter which you choose just remember its just a game and try not to kill anybody over the results of an online game. And like all other games you will have cheaters, hackers, glitchers, and so forth.

Other than that have fun and if you need further service feel free to email me [url not allowed]

Thanks for taking the time to read my short article on online gaming!

The Top Gaming Consoles

What’s your favorite gaming console? If you started playing games on a Xbox, that is probably your favorite gaming console, if you started on a Wii then that is probably your favorite. When talking to game console owners, they all seem to have a favorite console and they defend their selection with passion. Even if you are a strong Wii supporter, or a Xbox supporter, or a PlayStation supporter, you owe it to yourself to try the other systems.

When I say “try”, I mean using it for a reasonable length of time to become familiar with it and having enough time to properly formulate an educated opinion of that system, as compared to the others. They each have their strong points and their weak points, none of them are “perfect”. You may be surprised at what the other console gaming systems have to offer. I know a lot depends on how well the game has been created for use on the relative gaming system. Some games are absolutely fantastic, others are far less than perfect. Gaming programmers have a very challenging profession and it must be hard to come up with original ideas that no one else has and then be able to program that game in a way that makes it truly awesome to play. My “hat is off” to all those talented programmers that use their creativity abilities to create the truly awesome games available for all of us to play!

What’s your favorite gaming console system? What’s your favorite game? Give the other systems a try, and see if you are missing out on something good or maybe even better than what you have…

Call Of Duty: Black Ops Won Many Gaming Awards

One of the hottest titles in the gaming industry, the latest in the Call of Duty series by Activision, Call of Duty: Black Ops, sold over 7 million units within 24 hours of the November 2010 release. As of December, the game has already grossed over $1 billion in worldwide sales.

Call of Duty: Black Ops is a first person shooter for the Xbox 360 as well as other platforms including the Wii and PlayStation 3. It is the first of the Call of Duty games to be set during the 1960s, when the Cold War was at its height. The single-player campaign allows players to play as Alex Mason, a foot soldier who is being interrogated for information. As the campaign proceeds, you play as different characters including CIA agent Jason Hudson. In a break from the first-person shooter gameplay, you can also pilot a Hind helecopter and SR-71 Blackbird at various points. Prominent actors provide the voices for the various characters, including Sam Worthington as Mason, Ed Harris as Hudson and Gary Oldman as Victor Reznov, a character who returns from the earlier CoD: World at War game. The campaign game also includes cut scenes that features archival footage from the period, as well as a soundtrack that includes classic Vietnam War-era songs including the Rolling Stones’ Sympathy for the Devil and Creedence Clearwater Revival’s Fortunate Son.

For the multiplayer game, Black Ops allows teams to compete in completing various missions, such as Capture the Flag, in which your objective is to be the first to take the opposing team’s flag back to base and Domination, in which squads capture and hold three areas on a map. One of the major new features in the game is the inclusion of COD points that you earn which allow you to buy weapons and accessories as well as customization options. And there is a Theater Mode that allows you to record clips from online gameplay and upload them online, as well as a Combat Training mode that allows those new to multiplayer gaming and those who would like to try out new tactics and weapons to play online against AI opponents with a separate ranking and unlocking system. Xbox 360 players are allowed a second Gold Xbox Live account to keep track of the second player’s progression through the game.

The popular zombie cooperation mode introduced in Call of Duty: World at War returns in Call of Duty: Black Ops. As many as four players can play in four-player online and two-player split-screen mode, with maps allowing you to play as John F. Kennedy, Fidel Castro, Richard Nixon or Robert McNamara, fending off an invading zombie horde from the Pentagon, as well as a map inspired by the World at War game in which you play as Tank Dempsey, Edward Richtofen, Takeo Maskai or Nikolai Belinski. There is also an unlockable two-stick arcade-shooter Zombies game called Dead Ops Arcade.

How To Easily Fix The Red Ring Of Death In Xbox

It appears to me that Microsoft doesn’t have any plans to fix the Red Ring of Death anytime soon, because this helps them generate more revenue. The Red Ring of Death is one of the most common problems for Xbox, and you as a gamer should know how you can fix this condition on your own.

Sending the unit back to the Microsoft repair team will cost you more or less a hundred dollars. You have to pay for the courier service, and the fee that Microsoft will be charging you. The RRoD is a condition that comes back every time, and you will be spending the same amount every time you send it back to Microsoft.

The first thing that you need to learn when trying to fix the RRoD is the reason why these rings appear. This is a defense mechanism of Xbox, which tells the player that the console is already heating up. This problem is very common among hardcore gamers, who are using their units for months without turning it off.

In order to fix this very simple problem, all you have to do is to turn your console off. Open the casing using a screw driver and a knife and let it cool down for a few hours. Once the unit cools down, you can already play games without seeing the RRoD. See, a very simple problem that can cost you hundreds of dollars.

Never ask for the help of Microsoft when you are dealing with this problem, because you will most likely be advised to send the unit to the repair team, which will cost you money. Being able to fix the console by yourself will allow you to save a lot of money which can be used to buy new released games for your beloved Xbox 360.

Guitar Hero Wii Versus Rockband – Which is the Champ?

Guitar Hero Wii has given countless non-rockers the chance to feel like a rock star over and over again. This game and other music-game playing gadgetry have become so overwhelmingly popular of late. If you have not played before, you may be wondering why they are so popular. If you are one of the lucky ones who have played before, then you already understand why.

The Wii version and its long time competitor, Rockband Wii, allow us to pick a guitar and pretend that we are rocking out like Slash fro Guns N Roses. We get to play hard, rock out with friends, and enjoy the adulation of a simulated audience, all without the years of study, practice and devotion of real rock stars.

The games have increased further in popularity as each of the guitar game franchises try to best each other and become the coolest game. With numerous added features, we can now not only play the guitar, but also play the drums, sing on the microphone, create our own rock star characters, modify the instruments, download additional music and even record our own music.

There hasn’t been a consensus in the reviews over what franchise is the greatest, however apparently /”Guitar Hero Wii”/ edges out the rest. Lots of gamers appear to like the larger song list included with GH, which has a playlist in excess of 80 songs ranging from performers like Billy Idol and Van Halen to Paul McCartney, Michael Jackson and Coldplay.

Guitar Hero has guitars and drums that are more realistic. While they may not look the best, they are heavier and therefore feel more like a real guitar than what is offered by Rockband. Reportedly the accessories the come with are much sturdier and do not break as easily.

Hugely popular are the video games in the GH series (e.g., Guitar Hero Xbox 360 and Wii). The product reviews for these games tends to be higher. Small wonder: Guitar Hero makes an everyday guy or everyday gal feel like a big-time rock star. It is simply a blast to gather around in front of the console and rock out with your friends!

Game Lineups For 2008

July 2008 held E3, the biggest convention in the world where hardware, electronic devices, and game consoles come together in an effort to look back on the past year and to figure out what’s in stall for them for the next few months. Most of all, it was in E3 2008 where game developers talked about their previously-released games and the ones they will release soon.

So far, PS3 has been the unanimous vote for having a game lineup which has many players excited. This can be due to the release of Metal Gear Solid 4 last June. This year also saw the release of Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition, which many have been clamoring to buy.

However, Xbox is not to be left behind. This year Fable 2 coming out, the sequel to the game with an amazing storyline and graphics. It looks like Fable 2 will be following fans’ expectations and getting better gameplay with wonderful graphics. And there’s always the wait Rock Band 2, where even non-exclusive gamers are buying to get the taste of rocking out their favorite songs.

There are still no updates for the use of the Wii Fit, but Nintendo’s release for Wii has The House for the Head: Overkill is a transition from the arcade to its home-based console. Nintendo DS also has many lineups, one of them including the anticipated sequel to Phoenix Wright, with the recently released Ace Attorney Apollo Justice.

Some of the game lineups are for multi-platforms, just like the previously PS exclusive Final Fantasy XIII, which will utilize both the Xbox 360 and the PS3. Nevertheless, the 2008 game lineups have been amazing so far, and there are still a few months to go.

Red Ring of Death Repair Guide – The Easiest Way

Xbox consoles are getting popular for their huge entertainment value in playing games. All of us dread to see the rings of death on them which makes our favorite entertainment objects unusable for a long time. It is quite simple to do the red rings of death repair in a Xbox console. All you have to do is follow the easy instructions listed below:

Go to a computer store located nearby and purchase a packet of arctic silver compound. It is only priced at 5 dollars.
Then, you need to take out all the parts of your Xbox. You can use a screwdriver for opening up the console.

Then, take away the DVD drive from the console. After that, take off the motherboard and fan with caution. With the use of a petite screwdriver, you can remove the X-clamp through its points.

The next step is the most important part of the repair and that is the dismantling of the heat sink. This sink contains the GPU and the CPU and you will have to clean them up. After the dirt is removed from the GPU, make use of the Arctic Silver Thermal Compound on the GPU. Wait for 30 minutes before fixing up the console. In this time, the compound cools off. After it, put 2 nylon washers on the bolts of the heat sink. After that, place the screws on the heat sink and add another two nylon washers to them.

After the screws are bolted tightly, join the entire system.

This will really help you to get the red rings of death repair and you can avoid paying 200$ to the Microsoft for the repair purposes. Instead of following this method for red rings of death repair, it is better to follow the precaution of not keeping your system in a closed space like cabinets. This prevents the red rings of death from occurring in the first place. The system needs enough air to function properly and not be ruined due to lack of air. In a cabinet, it has higher chances of getting overheated.

The Next Generation in Gaming

So here we are the end of 2013, and the new generation in gaming is upon us! I don’t know about you, but I am super excited to see what this new era in gaming has in store for us. With the advancements in hardware and new technologies being implemented, this is definitely the most exciting update in gaming history.

I have been debating over which system I would like to get as my new centerpiece so I decided to break down the differences between the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4. Looking at the specs of both systems, you probably won’t notice a significant difference between the two. Both systems tout 8 core processors and high end graphic capabilities. Both systems have 8 gb of ram, although the Xbox One uses DDR3 while the PlayStation 4 uses GDDR5 which is a faster type of memory. The PlayStation 4 appears to be faster but that doesn’t mean the quality of visuals will necessarily be superior.

The Xbox One’s Cloud based gaming is truly intriguing. By using remote servers in the “cloud”, gameplay experiences may change dramatically as the next generation advances. The possibilities include outsourcing processing tasks, allowing for large, expansive worlds that load seamlessly and life-like simulations and animations. The PlayStation 4 is also cloud based and may be able to produce similar feats at some point during it’s lifetime.

Xbox One Ships with the Kinect, and I personally enjoyed the cool features of the Xbox 360’s version of the Kinect. Moving screens by “Dswiping” my hand felt futuristic and really satisfied my inner nerd. Giving my Xbox commands and swiping felt like we were finally starting to see the next generation of gaming come upon us. The new Kinect is said to be more sensitive and even able to detect your heartbeat. Interesting, I know. The PlayStation 4 also has a camera attachment that sells separately that is capable of doing some of the same things, many believe it will not be on the level of the Kinect.

As far as the games are concerned, both systems have titles in the works that I am interested in playing. Some of the new PS4 games I have seen such as Killzone: Shadow Fall and Dying Lights are prime examples of the difference between the current generation of gaming and the new one we are entering into now. The new Xbox One has some good games too. Dead Rising 3 looks amazingly fun to play and Fighter Within seems like a gem that many may be surprised with.

All in all, after comparing the two new systems, I’m still not sure which one I’ll go with. Either way, I’ll have a good time entering the next generation of gaming.

Find the Halo Strategy Guide for Your Favourite Halo Game

Expand the enjoyment of your gameplay with a detailed Halo Xbox walkthrough for all the games in this popular series.

Each Halo game guide is not only incredibly informative but is beautifully created and considered to be collector’s items.

This top-selling science fiction video game focuses around an inter-galactic war between a futuristic human race against a religious alien force known as the Covenant. This allied alien Covenant worshiped an ancient civilization called the Forefunners who apparently were wiped out by parasitic creatures known as the Flood. The term “Halo” refers to gigantic ring-like structures which were designed by the ancient civilizations to destroy the continued infestation from the Flood.

The entire Halo series is considered to be one of the best first-person shooter games of all time and is the crown jewel of the Xbox console. Every other similar game created thereafter has been held to the standard of this game when any comparisons were made. As their fame continues so do new additions to the franchise. With each new introduction, the amount of weapons, characters, levels, abilities, codes, cheats and “Easter eggs” have increased as well. This is where official strategy guides become a gamers’ best friend.

The very first of this series began with the classic Halo Combat Evolved. You are cybernetically enhanced soldier, known as a Spartan, named Master Chief who is accompanied by an artificial intelligence Cortana. Throughout your campaign you will battle numerous Covenant alien races both in military vehicles and on foot as you attempt to discover the secrets of the habitable ring-shaped planet known as Halo.

This Halo CE strategy guide includes the following:

* Tips and level design notes from the Bungie and Gearbox development teams

* Detailed maps of every single multiplayer level

* Essential tactics for dominating every multiplayer map and game mode

* Full compilation of Halo Easter eggs

Next in the line-up is Halo 2 which filled in any plot holes and game elements that may have been left out of the first game. An example of this was the introduction of the multiplayer matchmaking option that could be accessed by gamers via Xbox Live through an internet connection. This brought the experience of the game to a whole new level as now players had to pit their skills against other live players from around the world instead of artificial pre-programmed characters.

This Halo 2 strategy guide includes the following:

* Detailed annotated maps: outwit multiplayer opponents with your intimate knowledge of level architecture

* Study all features of multiplayer maps, from power-up locations to “secret” areas, attack routes, and more

* Includes an exhaustive rundown of preset and custom game types-design your own multiplayer match and attract the best crowd

* Features hundreds of digital screenshots to illustrate key points

* Confidently negotiate the huge Campaign mode with our exclusive maps and step-by-step walkthrough

* Designed to enhance the Halo 2 experience for newcomers and Halo: Combat Evolved veterans alike

The continuation of this into a trilogy can be seen in the sequel Halo 3 where the story focuses on the interstellar war between humans, led by the UNSC (United Nations Space Command), and the collection of aliens known as the Covenant. As the player you are once again in control of the Spartan known as Master Chief will defend humanity against the devastation brought on by the alien forces. Newer gameplay additions can be seen in this edition which was not available in the previous versions. Besides the different vehicles and weapons there was the inclusion of file sharing, saving of games and editing custom maps via the Forge option. This cool new function allowed the player to create their own maps which could be played live in multiplayer matches as well.

This Halo 3 strategy guide includes the following:

* Detailed annotated maps for all levels

* Learn how to dominate multiplayer matches with information on weapon locations and expert tips

* Learn about every enemy, vehicle and weapon – their strengths and weaknesses and how you can exploit them

The first RTS (Real-Time Strategy) game in the history of this game series was introduced as Halo Wars by Ensemble Studios. The storyline was set about 20 years before the events which happened in Halo 1. As the player you are required to lead squads of UNSC soldiers located onboard the carrier ship Spirit of Fire in an effort to bring to an end the effort of the Covenant to successfully access a fleet of powerful ancient warships from a race called the Forerunners which could end the survival of the human species.

This Halo Wars strategy guide includes the following:

In addition to the regular campaign mode where the group of ODST are exploring the devastated city of New Mombasa to try and find out what happened to their missing brothers-in-arms during the alien invasion, there is the introduction of a new multiplayer option called Firefight. This allows the player to fight increasingly difficult waves of enemies and try to survive as long as possible before the rounds are over.

This Halo ODST strategy guide includes the following:

* Move Out Soldier – Complete coverage of the single player missions. With labelled maps for New Mombasa and tactics included for the Legendary level of difficulty

* Clan Wisdom – All Halo 3 multiplayer maps with breakdowns and tips from some of the best clan players out there

* Rise Through the Ranks – Detailed info on every Achievement from Halo ODST and Halo 3. More than a list, instructions and tips for everyone

The newest addition is Halo Reach where you are a Spartan named Noble Six who is a member of an elite super-soldier squad known as Noble Team. The setting takes place on the human world Reach where the Covenant forces are unleashing a full-scale assault to decimate the planet. Noble Team and the UNSC attempt their heroic yet futile effort to thwart the invading army but still se
t-off a series of events which allow humans to ultimately survive and prevent the Covenant from destroying their home world of Earth. 3 Red Light Fix For the Xbox 360

The Red Ring of Death is an unfortunately familiar problem for many Xbox 360 owners. Caused by excessive heat due to a variety of malfunctions, this error was the source of major frustration for Microsoft’s console gaming fans who had been anticipating the next-generation, high-definition machine. Perhaps because it was so common, many people learned a simple 3 red light fix that requires only common tools and a couple of hours to complete.

To fix this Xbox problem you will need to get to the motherboard. Open the shell and it should be easy to find. Disconnect all cables and remove the motherboard, turn it over and locate the two X-clamps. Carefully remove the clamps and you will see the heat sink, which you should also remove. Under the heat sink, you will find the CPU and GPU. Clean the all the parts thoroughly but cautiously. Debris from the manufacturing process can get left behind which disrupts the electrical flow of the heat sink. Apply a thermal compound the cleaned heat sink and reinstall all of the parts. Be sure to use brand new screws to fasten the x-clamps as Microsoft underestimated the temperature sensitivity of the standard screws which erode from too much heat exposure. Screw them in somewhat tightly and restore the cover to complete the repair.

Sometimes, though, this isn’t enough. In this case, it is likely your graphics chip that needs replacing. The design of the first chip that Microsoft produced in house dissipates too much heat, more than the system can tolerate and cause the overheating problem which results in the RROD. Under the warranty Microsoft would replace this free of charge, but if you have to do it yourself you will be looking at a substantial cost, as graphics chips are not cheap, but it’s better than buying a new machine.
