  1. i had a master system when i was a kid and r-type was by far my favorite game on the system. i was able to finish it after months trying to get past that impossible level 7 (don't even imagine my face of horror when i discovered i had to replay all the levels again at a higher difficulty level to really get to the ending).
this is still the old school game i revisit the most. it's just amazing. i'm playing the psone port on my psp right now, and it's even harder than the master system version. anyway, it saddens me to see a big part of the new generation of gamers having to have things like this infinite mode to make the game "approachable" for them. this just takes 99.9% of the fun away. other than that, this remix looks incredible, i loved the redesign in graphics while retaining the level design untouched, awesome port!

  2. NEED R-TYPE DIMENSIONS ON PC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. I completed R-Type 1 on the MasterSystem when I was a kid.  We had no internet back then so I had no idea it was supposed to be one of the hardest games ever.  I feel quite pleased with myself ;-P

  4. One of my top 3 favorite shooters of all time. Any version of R-type is a great time.
Also check out: R-Type Leo (arcade) &  R-type Delta (PS1)

  5. haven't played an r-type game since r-type final.  looks awesome!  might have to pick this up.

  6. There's nothing like using a pc engine control pad with the turbo buttons for games like this.

  7. While shmups are not where my skills lay, I used to adore playing the first R-Type on my TG-16. I still have my PSN copy of the PS1"R-Types", but I think I will check this out.

  8. Hello blister thumbs !! I wasn't expecting this shoot'em up to hit the psn.Since it was a xbal exclusive for so long now.To bad r-type dimensions, couldn't have included r-type leo as well that's one that never had a port.

  9. Wow, this guy's horrible. Was he even TRYING to doge the enemies? Btw, this finally comes to PSN tomorrow 😀

  10. as a kid in the 80's when i first saw arcade charts featuring R-type i said 2 myself "why is there a typing game in the arcades"!? until i discovered it was one of the best shooters ever created and at that time the most graphically brilliant

  11. i bet you didn't grow up playing games like this ,your sound like you play boring fps with no personality

  12. Whoops, did I misspell your name, deadmau5suckz? Then again, you don't have a proper understanding of the English language yourself now, do you?

  13. Your face looks very bad, 123doomdoom. Sometimes, SOME of us APPRECIATE an old-school side-scrolling shooter and R-Type was one of the best and most legendary games of the genre!

  14. @deadmau5suckz
…Considering it's a rerelease of a game from 1987 and a game from 1989? The graphics are pretty damn good.

Not to mention that if you buy your games based on graphics you're not doing so well anyway.

  15. @TheHaloChief117 Good question. Doesn't seem liek you'd enjoy anything of the classic world gameplay.

  16. @RyanKHS06 thats why i looked it up because i got a free code 4 this… well xbox just sent it 2 me i dont know y

  17. @RyanKHS06 TBH i just put infinite mode on and finished it in 10 minutes,
might aswell get the achievements 😉
