  1. Some do, some don’t. Like Halo 1 and 2 are, as well as most Call of Duty games, but like for instance James Bond: Agent underfire, James Bond: Nightfire and Mechassualt don’t while some only work on certain consoles, like how Star Wars Republic Commando works on my friends 360, but not on mine, then you have games like Gun, which were released on both consoles and therefore only work for the console they were sold for. Just punch the game you want to try in, if it doesn’t work it won’t hurt anything

  2. Some games do, but not all. There are lists on Xbox.com and Wikipedia that tell you which ones are backwards compatible, I will post a link to them when I am able. Some games may require an update, the easiest way to get this would be to start the game while connected to Xbox Live and accept the update, but you should also be able to get it through Xbox.com if you need to. Also, all backwards compatibility on the Xbox 360 requires an official Xbox 360 hard drive, flash memory (like that of the built in memory of the 4GB model or flash drives) don’t work. neither does most unofficial bargin hard drives.

Oh, and just a friendly reminder, please try to remember to choose a best answer for your question if one helps you. since Y!A has done away with voting. You can always choose to wait for more if the ones you have aren’t satisfactory.
