Why won’t the “Chaplin” Bluray play on my PS3?

Tonight I bought a copy of the 1992 film “Chaplin” starring Robert Downey Jr. on Blu Ray from Wal Mart. I took it home and put the disc in my PS3 to start watching. The player recognized the disc as “Chaplin” and the little icon came up, but when I click on that image and the disc plays, all that plays is a black screen, with no ability to skip it, fast forward it, go to the menus, etc. I thought it was a problem with the disc, so I took it back and exchanged it. But I’m having the same problem with the new disc. I’ve never had this problem before, I tried three other Blu Rays in the player just to be sure it was working, and they all played. My software is up to date, I last updated when I bought the Social Network Bluray and since the Chaplin one came out in 2007 I can’t see it being as a result of out of date software. I’ve never had a disc that was unable to play on here before. Why is this happening and how can I fix it?
