Say you got a used xbox 360 from gamestop that was made in 2007 would there be any differences from it and one made in 2009. I know that the new ones have a jasper chip. And which would you recomend a cheap used one or a new one at regular price.

  1. Not sure exactly but i heard the x clamp that used to connect the motherboard to the gpu was removed and replaced with four screws since the clamp warped in hotter situations and an extra heatsink was added, all of this to prevent erros (most likely Red ring of death) THIS MAY ONLY BE THE CHANGES FROM 2005-2007, but pretty sure

  2. If you can afford it, I would suggest the new one. Besides it being less likely to fail due to hardware upgrades and newer chip sets, you will have a 3 year warranty on the rrod and e74 errors.

  3. Well, the new Xbox 360’s are even less likely to get RROD and other Hardware Malfunctions or Errors. And they have new chips and in general it is faster and better, so I would recommend getting a used ’09 model or brand new one.
